MEET THE ARTIST

Hi! I'm Kolbie Moughon

I'm a 19-year-old digital artist from Texas. For years, I've been developing a style of digital art that blends character design, fantasy, and visual storytelling while also working in traditional mediums like watercolor and acrylic painting. My experience in theater is the biggest influence on my character art, worldbuilding, and design. I was blessed to earn the 2025 UIL State Champion in Costume Design for Axoloris the Musical. When I'm not drawing, you'll find me deep into fantasy novels, Marvel comics, or rewatching The Lord of the Rings for the thousandth time. I draw a lot of inspiration from Brandon Sanderson, C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, and the worlds they create. And, naturally, every great artist needs fuel. Mine is tomato soup and grilled cheese. 🍅🧀

Digital art

A collection of digital works focused on bringing original characters, mythical lore, and moody lighting to life through digital mediums.

watercolor

Working on paper with traditional paints allows me to lean into the unpredictable, fluid nature of wet media, capturing a different kind of warmth and texture than digital layers can.

Spotlight

This piece was made as an advertisement for a developing medieval Live Action Role Play (LARP) group called Storm the Castle. Their goal is to buy a castle and then reenacting a siege.
I implemented heavy contrast within the painting to signify the two sides, including light against shadows and a brear against a dragon.
